Roger Palmer has been an Expert Witness in many different contract and patent litigations involving automatic identification. He is the author of "The Bar Code Book", an authoritative text book on the technologies involved in bar code and other forms of optical marking identification. Over 50,000 copies of The Bar Code Book have been sold since the first edition was published in 1989. The Fifth Edition was published in 2007. "
